Windows File Protection Error Message

I have a user with Windows XP SP2 that is receiving a Windows File
Protection error stating: Windows File Protection: Files that are required
for windows to run properly have been replaced by unknown versions; Windows
needs to restore these files to function properly. Then it ask to load the
original CD. Since these systems came with XP loaded there is no CD. It also
asked for a SP2 CD but didn't like the CD I had even though that is the one
that I used to install SP2 with. I ran Windows defender and Ad-Aware which
found no viruses. I re-registered the initpki.dll but I still receive this
error message whenever I try to run sfc /scannow. How can I fix this?

The OS is looking for the Windows XP installation files (.\i386) at SP2 level (PC should
be at SP3 level by now).

Take a SP2 level CDROM or an i386 folder (from an OS CDROM matching the OS. XP Home
..\i386 files for HP Home or XP Professional .\i386 files for HP Professional and copy them
files to; C:\

Then edit the Registry.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup
SourcePath = C:\

That is edit "SourcePath" to be; C:\

Then re-run; sfc /scannow

Then I suggest installing WinXP SP3 and slip-streaming c:\i386 to SP3 level.

You said... "I have a user..."
If that's the case you should no problem understanding what I have written.
