No Video after installing XP Home Edition

I purchased a new Maxtor 80 GB Hard Drive and installed
Microsoft XP Home Edition Full Version.
It installed without problem. When it rebooted after
completing its entire loading the XP Logo Screen with the
moving dashes appeared and after a few minutes the screen
went BLACK while I heard the XP theme playing and the Hard
drive indicator light was still blinking.
What do I have to do to view my monitor?
 
Do you have the latest XP drivers for your video card? Is your video card
supported under Windows XP?
