no status bar in IE6

When I open a new window using CTRL+N, it never has a status bar at the
bottom, even though it starts up that way for the first window. My old PCs
have never had this problem. Is there a registry setting or something that
I need to change?

Hi

Open Windows Explorer, enable View>Status Bar, if it isn't already enabled,
then go to Tools>Folder Options>View and click on 'Apply to All Folders'.
Restart Internet Explorer.

Worked......thanks very much. I had not noticed the lack of status bar in
windows explorer and probably would not have connected the two anyway.
