No speech recognition tab

When I click on the speech icon on the control panel,
there is no speech recognition tab as told in the help
and support center. I was trying to configure my
microphone on my laptop. Has anyone an answer for this?

Hi,

I understand that the speech recognition tab is missing in control panel
speech option.

Please note that the speech recognition tab will be installed when you
install some speech recognition program like Office.

Please visit the following link:

HOW TO: Install and Configure Speech Recognition in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q306537

Navigate to "How to Install Speech Recognition" section of the article.

Hope that answers your question.

Thank you,

Rashmi
