Hi.
I recently formatted my computer and have now installed winXP home edition.I
have problems with the driver for my sound card.
When I check the card "SoundMAX integrated digital audio" I get the
following message: The driver for this unit cannot be read. The driver might
be damaged or missing.(code 39).
I have installed the driver from the original motherboard cd and also
downloaded it from the asus homepage but i still have tha same problem.

Any ideas what to do?

Is your soundcard integrated to the MoBo or is it in a PCI slot? If it is in
a PCI slot, first unplug the speakers and open the case and remove the one
screw.
Then pull the card straight out, take a clean dry cloth and wipe it and
reinsert it,
but put it in the next slot, there should be at least two in your PC.
Plug in the speakers and reboot. Now check if it activates. If not, you
may need
a new soundcard, or..............?
