No Sound

Hi

Any advice/suggestions on the following would be appreciated:

PC uses a WinFAst m/b with onboard audio.

Using XPP there is no sound output - have tried both speakers or headphones
plugged into the green socket on the souncard. In device manager the audio
devices are listed and the Device Status states that it is working properly.

In Sound & audio devices Properties > Sounds: any sound selected & clicking
on the > button produces no sound - that button is not greyed out. Under the
Volume tab mute is not ticked.

Are there likely to be any other 'Mute' settings elsewhere in the system or
is there any other reason for no sound?

TIA

In Sound & audio devices, check the box, "Place volume icon in the taskbar", Apply, OK

Left-click the sound icon and see if the mute box is checked.
Double-click the sound icon and see if any of the other outputs are muted.
