You wont have any sound unless you install sound drivers.
Depending how you reinstalled / or what exactly you mean, you may have to
reinstall all hw and chipset drivers.

Your Q makes no real sense unless you post more details of your setup.
From these two posts it maybe that you have installed winxp to the 'wrong'
drive
