No Sound Device Installed

Hi I am hoping that someone can help me with my HUGE problem...well to me it
is anyway.
I recently had to re-install my Windows XP Home Edition because I had some
dramas but since then I have had no sound.
It keeps telling me that I have no sound device installed.
Can someone please tell me how to fix the problem.

Anytime you reinstall WinXP you wind up with a fresh version unless you do
a repair install. Consequently, you are required
to reload all your Xp updates, programs and some Device Drivers. Sound is
usually one of them. Either you have a PCI
Sound Card or a integrated sound chip on the Motherboard. Hopefully you
know what it is but if not you can download
this excellent System Information Program and when installed go to
Computer>Summary>In rt column scroll down to
Multimedia>Audio Adaptor. It will tell you what it is. Look under Value.
From there you can google the driver.
