No Security Tab to Protect Files/Folders_HELP!

Jack

When I right click a folder and choose properties I don't get a security Tab
to enable me to Password protect the Folders. The tabs I get are General,
Sharing, and Customize. Under the Sharing Tab I can not even click, Make
this folder private. It's greyed out. Can someone help me password protect
folders and files. Thanks Gregg

You don't password protect anymore, you use security as you tried.
In order for the security tab to show you have to first be formatted in
NTFS. Then in xp pro you have to disable simple file sharing, in explorers
folder options, view tab. In xp home you have to boot to safe mode.
Private folders only works on the my documents folder and it's sub-folders.
