I recently did an XP Home upgrade to a machine running 98. The computer is:
F845DA (ATX mPGA 478 Socket Motherboard) w/2.4Ghz Celeron, 256 meg of 266 Mhz
DDR RAM, 20 Gig hard drive, Nvidia GeForce 440 MX video card.
I had no screen saver, or monitor power down. The windows open up to allow
me to set screen saver, time, etc but the screen saver and power save
functions won't start, though I can do the "Preview" function and see the
screen saver. I just formatted a new drive and did a clean install of XP from
my upgrade disc (SP2). and I have the same problem. It's driving me nuts.
