No Screen, no BIOS start up...times two...

Last used computer a week ago no problems, now I try to start &
all of a sudden I can't see any image on the screen and the power
seems to be going to the fans etc.

I confirmed by swaping out, (One by One) from an identical twin
computer that works, the button battery, power supply, video card,
CPU assembly and the hard drive. Each time I confirmed the good
computer worked OK... Still the same result in the bad one...

---Next comes the BIG regret ---, I pulled the "Award Sync MOS" 32 pin
chip from the ASUS P2-99 Taiwanese M/B from the good computer &
installed this chip in the bad computer, still no go. So naturally I
reinstall that chip back to the good one and now it's a BAD computer
with the same no screen, pwr on symptom!!! Opps, what did I do ??? I
was careful with static, direction of chip and the pins are all
straight. Did I clear a BIOS memory or something? Help !!!
Thanks, Gus

Yeah, I'd suspect the power supply in the crook one has now cooked the good
CPU.
It has happened to me. Whatever you do, don't try that power supply in a
good comp!!
Lesson learned!!

No it can't be that, because I had a pwr supply from another identica
clone, not the good computer I spoke of. I have parts from another
computers that flash up the NOT ACPI compliant during boot up askin
for a newer BIOS..

The good computer I spoke of only had the button battery, video car
& the Award SyncMOS chip pulled...Gu
