No Remote Desktop Access after SASSER Patch

We have 6 XP PCs at the office that use Remote Desktop.

2 became infected with SASSER. After sucessful removal and
applying the Microsft path to all 6 PCs, Remote Desktop
does not work on any of them.

We get the "Remote Desktop Disconnected, etc..." error.

It seems to me it was something in the patch from
Microsoft that has shut down Remote Desktop, since not all
of the PCs actually had SASSER.

Help Microsoft!

Dug around some more and found the solution to our problem.

Hey Tony.. I just tried an old fix for 2000 on my XP
machine for this.. you have to edit the registry but this
works. Go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\TermSe
rvice\Parameters

go in here and delete the CERTIFICATE string then reboot.
It will regenerate that string and you will be able to
remote back into your systems.

Thanks - I don't understand the fix, but I'll look into it--I've definitely
seen this issue posted elsewhere.
