I'm running Win 2K SP 4.
When I open Windows Explorer and go to Tools>Folder Options>File Types,
Explorer searches for registered file types, but doesn't seem to find any to
produce a list. It just keeps on searching...
All other functions seem normal; file extensions are shown in the details
view of any folder, and file associations seem normal ( the correct programs
open appropriate flles)
I also don't get the 'pop-up' description of icons on the task bar (don't
know if this is related)
I've done virus scans using Norton & AVG, as well as Kasperksy Labs, and
found nothing.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions for what might be wrong, and how to
fix it...
