no recognition

When I put a CD in my rom and try to burn something, it wont
recognize that a disk has been loaded. Can someone point me in the right
direction where my problem might be.

What kind of drive do you have?
Did it recognise the disk before and now does not?
Have you checked in My Computer to see if the drive is active when you
insert the disk?

As your drive is working it could be a compatability problem with the disk

I know that some sometimes older drives hiccup with newer type disks
Just an idea
Maybe someone else has another angle
