no program association

exe file does not have a program association.
I am trying to install adobe acrobat reader. But after the latest round
of critical updates from Microsoft, I get the following error when
trying to load:

This file does not have a program associated with it for performing
this action. Create an association in the Folder Options Control Panel.

Does anyone have a fix for this??

Thanks

Dear SundaysChild,

You may not see the full file name. Windows tend to hide file extension
for known types by default, so your real file name may be
"AdobeSetup.exe.tmp".
In Windows Explorer open Tools (menu) -> Folder Options... -> View
(tab), and uncheck the option "Hide extensions for known file types".

In any case, it seems that your file is bad. Try to download it again.
