no printer

I have the HP Pentium 4 computer and an HP Officejet T 45
printer and XP will NOT recognize the printer. I've had a
service persone work for over an hour and he found it to
be an XP problem but unfortunately it's impossible to
find an email address or phone number for microsoft. Any
help will be appreciated. I've been without the printer
since December, 2002.

Is the XP driver for the printer installed? How does it connect to the PC?
Have you tried different cables? Look at it this way.

Hello

Well have you tried going to hp's web site and looking up that
printer and making sure that you have the correct drivers for it
and also. Link below provides location of drivers for your printer
ok. ALso make sure that your USB or parallel port and working
and maybe repalce printer cable. see both links ok
