No Pictures - Red X

Hi Guys,
sorry you must have dealt with this lots of times but check previous posts
and can't find a reference. I had to reinstall windowXp Sp2 due to a
corruption in the Configsys, tried the recovery console but no luck. Anyway
reinstalled xp but now when I go onto web pages I get a red X instead of
pictures. Appreciate some advice on how to solve this one guys.
