no network browsing

I have a WinXp home pc on a peer network that can not see the other pc's. I
can surf the internet thru. the router and ping the other pc but can not
search for the computer.

I am in the same workgroup.
i can ping "server" and get a responce from 192.168.0.1
But if i seach for the computer with the ip or its name, i get nothing
i can not even find myself (local ip)

make sure you enable sharing or use net share command to check the status.
