no mouse to close a program

I had a problem with my computer rebooting, I finally got
it to start to repair my XP. My mouse software can't be
put on until my XP is fully restored. My XP gets almost
done, but then my ad-ware automatically scans. I can't
stop this because the mouse doesn't work yet. How can I
stop the scan of the adware until my XP is fully repaired?
arrows and page up/down does not help. ctl/alt/del does
not work either. HELP PLEASE
