No Mouse ot Keyboard detection

This problem is really a big one... And I'm completly out of idea. Please help

Problem description

When booting windows XP Professionnal, the mouse and the keyboard stop responding at the welcome screen. The Keyboard and the mouse perfectly work with restore command prompt and BIO

Last actions before problem

- I deleted my old NVIDIA video card related software
- I installed new USB drivers for my ADSL mode

System

System :Windows XP Professionna
Microsoft cordless Natural Keyboard + cordless Intellimouse 4.0 (last driver were already present before problem happened
Mother Board : ASUS K8V Deluxe S
Processor : AMD 64 3000
Video Card : ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 12
Memory : 1024 Mo DDR 40

Steps taken so far

- Changing keyboard and mouse battery -> No chang
- Checking Bios compatibility with USB -> It's O
- Trying an other classical non-usb keyboard -> No chang
- Booting in Safe Mode -> No chang
- Booting last good configuration known -> No chang
- Trying all F8 boots -> No chang
- Checking disk -> It's O
- Flashing BIOS to last version-> No chang
- Trying all memory combination possible (I have 3 slots and 2 Memory of 512Mo) -> No chang
- Repair installation with minimal connexions : CD, HDD, Keyboard and Video Card -> Things get worse. Installation freezes during the second step (1st reboot after coping files) on a black screen and a paralysed mouse arrow. I went then to the repair command prompt to put back the normal Windows booting files (from Windows/Repair). System is booting on WinXP again with no mouse or keyboard detected (and a rundll error if I boot on normal mode). I'm almost back at the beginning point..
- Changing the video card -> No chang
- Changing the processor -> No chang
- Desactivating with the repair command prompt all services related to my old USB Logitech Mouse -> No chang
- Praying computer Gods -> No chang

I don't have any other HDD, so I'm not able to test a new full clean install. And I won't do it on my actual HDD as I don't want to lose my windows data !

are they USB mouse and keyboard, or regular?

If USB you should have a bios setting to allow USB mice/key, otherwise
they wount work until the OS loads the usb drivers. You did say you
changed the USB didn't you....

I think you have misread my reply. I have suggested reloading the
motherboard drivers , not the motherboard. These drivers contain the usb
drivers which have been known to corrupt. Jym

Well, I have no other socket 754 motherboard to try... And when the board
was tested where I bought it, it seemed to work quite well... Anyway,
changing my motherboard will be the damn last option...
Does anyone know how and where is load all the services linked with the
mouse and the keyboard ? When doing a repair installion, Windows uses new
proper service or does it try to use services already installed ? Is my
problem fully hardware or is my windows installation corrupted ? Well...
And is there just a way to know the source of the problem ?

Well, I did a clear CMOS and flashed my BIOS again, but it didn't change anything

Reisntalling motherboard USB WinXP drivers is something impossible as mouse/keyboard don't work on the OS (unless there is a way to manage installation under the repair command prompt)
