No mouse or keyboard

I have Windows 2000 with a ps2 mouse and keyboard.
When I boot, the system wants me to "click to restore
active desktop", but the mouse and the keyboard do not
work. I tested the KB & mouse on another computer and they
work fine.

Any clues?

Corrupted drivers, or hardware fault, most likely.

create boot disk.

and boot from disk.
If keyboard dosen't work, it will be hardware problem.
try usb keyboard.
