Hi, I can't get an automatic update anymore from Windows ! It has always
came through, but suddenly last week, pof! It tells me I have a multiple
usage copy of some sort..( ??? ) and that I am not allowed to get
anymore update. I bought my PC few years ago WITH WinXp Pro French
version installed on it. I don't have the CD of Win XP ( they never gave
me one !!! ) and the store went bankcrupt since then. I have no way of
retracing them. Am I stuck with this version ? Was I taken on a bad
shopping trip or what ? What can I do now ? I don't want to buy a new
copy of Win XP pro !!! :=((
This one works quite well....
Can someone help me in this matter ?
Thanks..

Somehow you have to prove that you are the original owner of the software
before MS listens to you.

Unfortunately you were sold a machine with illegally pirated software. There
was a program in place to replace counterfeit copies at no charge, but that
doesn't apply since you received no disk.

Since the seller is out of business it will be up to you to replace the
illegal software.

If they did not give you a CD or CD Key, then you seem to be out of luck.
You could try to fill out a piracy claim with Microsoft.

Thanks for the tip. But how do I do this ? Where do I go to make this
claim ? I am so frustrated to discover they sold me this machine. More
frustrated since it works so well ! :=))

800-325-1233 if OEM dealer has gone out of business and need to replace
a CD. This is a USA phone number. If you are in another part of the
