Hi,

my prefetch folder remains empty.

Even using "Windows XP Clean and Control 1.2.0" and setting prefetch to
whatever "on" option, nothing changes ( even after reboot of course)

Any idea why and how correct ?

Better to have it on or totally useless ?

TIA !

It depends on the EnablePrefetcher Registry Key Value. Also, you
loose Prefetch processing if the "Scheduler" service is not running.
Starting any application should create a new 'AppName'.pf file in the
C:\Windows\Prefetch\ folder

Reg keys are OK.
But indeed have scheduler service deactivated, because never need it
explicitly.

Any real / demonstrated advantage using prefetching ?

Thanks and TIA

Yes, just as drives have a Cache or a CPU uses a L2 Cache - prefetching
has definitive advantages over a non-Prefetch system, both for booting &
Application startup time.
