"No More Connections Can Be Made To This Remote Computer"

I have a small office with 6 computers, one of which acts as a server.
I have read that XP home allows 5 inbound connections and XP pro
allows 10. I have 2 questions:

1. If I upgrade the "server" to XP pro, will I be able to have 10
inbound XP Home connections?

2. Because I only have 6 computers, and it is supposed to allow 5
inbound connections, I am unsure why I get this error message.
Perhaps there is some other inbound connection I am unaware of. Is
there a way to list the connections the "server" is counting as an
inbound connection?

Thanks!

Hi mtbcpa,

1) Windows XP Pro will allow 10 inbound connections, regardless of OS. So
10 XP Home machines would be able to connect.

2) This is likely happening because one of the 5 machines has a session
already open and then it doesnt reconnect to that old session.
You can view sessios by doing the following:
Start -Run - compmgmt.msc
Expand Shared Folders - Expand Sessions.
This will list your active sessions.

Hope this helps.
