Direct Cable connection

I have a direct com-com connection between 2 windows XP machines. This
works fine, but I would like to increase the transmission speed. The
outbound connection says it could go at 921600Kbs, but the inbound (other
end) seems to be limited to 115200Kbs. Is there anyway of upping the
"inbound" end speed?
