I recently had to reinstall xp professional. This time
around, when I start up or restart the computer, it just
goes straight into the administator account without
stopping at the windows login screen. Anyone else have a
similar problem?

Thanks in advance.

I also have XP. In my case I reach the login screen but
only one user's button is displayed, under a name I
entered on set up. I am the sole user but I cannot get in
as an administrator and I'm denied talking any of the
administrator actions. There are a lot of people asking
similar questions to ours but I've seen no replies and
there's nothing on setting up an administrator in the help
areas.
There's a lot of us getting pretty desparate.

Hallo Dave,
I have a similar problem. Look for mine under nurmi a few lines above your
entry. I am getting help.

Hallo again,
I solved part of my problem by opening the Control Panel > User Accounts <
and creating another administrator. Loged in on this new account I was able
to make the changes I wanted to make.
