Im unable to log in on my laptop it doesn't ahow any my account on the
welcome screen all it shows is the windows logo it doesnt even have the
shutdown computer button. Ive tried booting up in safe mode but that
doesnt work. My CD drive is also having problems it can only read DVDs
so I can't use the windows CD to repair. Any suggestions?

Hi Daniel,
The most obvious piece of advice is to get the CD/DVD drive fixed. It
seems strange to me that you don't do this....? Have you thought that
this drive is now causing you more problems?
However, have you tried going into safe mode? If you can do this you can
then go into the Event Viewer from Admin Tools to see if the problem is
listed there.
Failing that, go into the BIOS and start disabling built in peripherals.
Try disabling LAN, Printer Port, Modem, etc. and see if you can boot. Do
this to isolate hardware faults?
