I need help. My windows xp system does not have a local area
connection in the advanced setting window. I do have a local conection
in the main network connection window. Also my "Network Setup Wizard"
does not work when I start it nothing happens. I have even tried
starting it from a command line. I have tried removing my protocols
and even the network driver to no avail. I want to bind my file and
print sharing to netbuei.

Do you have any other NICs in device manager/network adapters that don't
show up in the connections window?

I only have the one Ethernet NIC. I do have a firewire port and a
modem. The modem seems to come and go in the connetions window and it
does seem like the firewire port was there at one time.

Try reinstalling the firewire card's drivers. It should show in the
connections folder too.

Should I just re install windows?
