No Line In, CMedia onboard Soundcard P4B533

I have a p4 2.4Gz with Asus P4B533 motherboard, it has an onboard
Cmedia 8738 sound card. But i also have a PCI sound blaster audigy that
is currently working fine.

As for the onboard soundcard the input (line in) only works when the
computer is booting up right up until XP loads, then quits.the playback
works on this card fine and so does the playback on the audigy.
But I can't use this line in in XP.. all the jacks on the soundblaster
work fine too... ive tried everything... every possible source, unmuted
all, all levels to a max still no sound from the line in jack in XP,
only during boot time...


ANYONE have any idea why it might be doing this? and how on earth i can
fix it??

both line in playback and recording volumes should be ok. also check if u
have installed any third party equaliser software or does your drivers
provide an effect manager which runs in background as your problem starts
when xp loads its startup programs and services
