following message is displayed when I ran a diagnostic: info the following
proxy configuration is being used by IE: Automatically Detect Settings:
Enabled Ajutomatic configuration Script: Proxy Server: Proxy Bypass list:
Info could not get proxy settings via the Automatic Proxy configuration
mechanism
This computer has the following default gateway entry(ies): 0.0.0.0
My internet is accessable via my router on another computer, but again my

Thanks

Try this: De-select "Automatically Detect Settings" so nothing is
selected on that LAN Settings page.

Also try these:

NETSH

Click Start, Run, type:

netsh winsock reset

Press Enter key

Restart the system

You can also try this software download from a working machine:

LSP-Fix

Joe,

Thanks for the info but it is still a no go..

You might try this then: Open Network Connections, Properties of "Local
area connections" (or whatever the name of your connection", Properties
of "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)", and select "Obtain an IP address
automatically".

It may be better to post to a networking ng where such problems are more
common; I'm out of my element here..
