No index in help and support

Windows XP Professional
When I START->HELP AND SUPPORT->INDEX the only thing I get is a red X in the
upper left corner on the pane taht the topics are to be displayed in.
Can some one help with this problem, please?

To reinstall Help and Support: Go to C:\Windows\inf\pchealth.inf.
Right-click and choose install. Have your CD handy.

Note: The folder is hidden by default. Go to Start/Run and type in: control
folders. View: Show hidden files and folders and uncheck Hide extensions
for known file types.
