No Inbox Repair

We have Windows98 that came with our computer when we
bought it new in 2000. Today we had our Outlook fail, and
I had to make a new file. It is working fine now, but to
retrieve our previous e-mails I need to run Inbox Repair
on my System Tools. The problem is there isn't an Inbox
Repair. Is there a way I can download this from Microsoft?

It should already be on your hard drive somewhere. Search for a file named
scanpst.exe.

OK, I found the file called scanpst.exe, but it is asking
me which file I want to scan. What should I put there? I
can't anything for Outlook.

You're going to need to search your hard drive for all .PST files and try to
figure out which one is the one you had trouble with. It will probably be
called either outlook.pst or mailbox.pst (but not necessarily), and you
should be able to tell from the file size and the last modified date of the
file whether it's the one you're looking for. When you find it, make sure
you let the Inbox Repair Tool make a backup of it before you proceed with
the repair operation.
