It is possible. For more clarity, create:
1. A website shortcut in the Desktop [.URL]
2. A HTML file [say, bookmark.htm]
How do the icons look like, now? This information might help in removing the icon handler for the appropriate registry key.

What could be causing the default ie icon from not showing in the address bar whenever I go to any website, it's just blank. I had no problem with this until I upgraded to Office 2003, could there be a link?(I know the favicons don't show up because of a glich in ie but the default icon usually show instead)
