No Icons on Desktop

Hi,
Am running windows 2000 professional and i recenlty had a
power surge. now all my desktop icons are missing. windows
boots OK but i only have my backround. I tried bootng to
safe mode and last good configuration but there are no
icons there to. Please help.

Hi Tom,

Try turning off active Desktop -
Right click on the desktop
Select properties
Click on the web tab
Uncheck show web content on my active desktop

should do the trick.
