Working on a Dell laptop that when I got it, it loaded to the desktop but
with nothing but the backround. The only thing I could do was get into TSKMGR
..

I removed HDD and scanned with several AV and malware scanners, removed
hundreds of infected files.

Now when I boot, it comes up to the users icon and when I click it it says
Loading Your personal Settings , Then the desktop flashes for about 1/2
second, and it goes back to the icon and says Closing Network Connections
.....

I cannot get by this, even in save mode it does the same thing..

Try the userinit fix from here http://www.ms-mvp.org/ this file works for
SP2 and SP3 only. READ the enclosed instructions. If you have SP1 do not use
this file. If you need any other version then email the author using the
link at the bottom of the webpage. Your issue is caused by a malware
infestation. Once fixed you will need to use the Remove-it software, it will
remove that malware from your system. Choose yes for all options when
prompted. Download it here http://www.ms-mvp.org/

This not the MVP site despite its fake logos.

The correct MVP site is http://www.mvps.org/

This is not David Lipman's post, it was done by an imposter and most likely
that Imposter is PCButts1.
He pushes his 'Remove It' software and most say it is stolen from the
original authors and can cause problems with your system.
This is only hear-say on my part, so do some checking before using Remove
It.
Haven't heard about his 'userini.exe' fix. It may or may not work or it may
or may not cause more problems to you system.
