No Favorites in IE

A while back I lost my favorites/bookmarks in Internet Explorer. I also
can't view some pages. I have checked security settings and all is correct.
I have noticed that a personal info file is missing, because when I try to
load some games for my grandson at times they stop loading and request an
info file and because I don't have it or it is missing the load stops. I
think this file has something to do with my IE problem. I have tried to
reinstall IE 6 and same issue is there. I don't want to reload Windows Pro,
just would like to get IE 6 working properly. I can't even get any bookmarks
or favorites at all and can do no organizing because there is nothing to
organize. I am currently using Opera 8.01 and Firefox (Latest) with Opera as
selected preference. I have tried to set IE 6 as preferred browser, but give
up because of the lack of favorites and many non-displaying web pages. Not a
total disaster just a pain when you need to use IE 6. Any ideas would be of
help or if any others have experienced similar problems.
