lost IE Favorites

The IE Favorites that are now appearing are from a year or so ago. I found
my current ones in C:\documents and settings\(my name)\favorites but have no
idea how to get them to the Favorites menu. How do I do it without having to
manually do each one?

Are you still logging in as (my name)?
Is there another folder under documents and settings similar to (my
name).(computername)?

Usually you could just copy the contents of the "favorites" folder to your
"favorites" folder... So it sounds like either your "favorites" folder has
been redirected elsewhere or you are using a different user profile than
before.

You can find where they are located using windows Explor and copy them to the
new location of your Favorites,
Here is another way- This is just a copy and paste of a problem I had
before but it does tell you how to change the default location of your
favorites.

I have Tweaki installed on my system and changed the favorites location with
that. I have been doing that for years now, but I lost my favorites one day.
I tried a few things. I tried Tweaki, but the changing of the special
folder `Favorites’ was gone, no longer available. I tried to uninstall
Tweaki and reinstall. While Tweaki would not uninstall, so I found the
registry entries and deleted it that way. I then reinstalled it. The change
‘Favorites’ folder option was still not available. So I did some more
searching of the help topics. I found this (this is for Windows XP)
When you click the Favorites menu in Internet Explorer, all of
your favorite
URLs may be missing. This might happen if the Favorites Shell Folder is set
incorrectly. Open Registry Editor and navigate to: - Start/ Run and type
regedit then click OK
Navigate to –
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders
In the right windowpane Under Name find Favorites beside favorites under
data is the path to your Favorites. If this is incorrect then right click on
Favorites under name, and select Modify. On the box that opens under Value
data enter the correct path to you favorites folder. I.e. – F:\Favorites
Open a new Internet Explorer and your Favorites should all be back.
Hope this works for you it did for me so I hope it helps some one else also.

I should mention after I corrected the registry setting to were my favorites
were the option in Tweaki --My computer - Special Folders showed Favorites
again.
