No export to excel option

I don't seem to be able to use or have the option to export to excel. I click
the right mouse button on a field in a table in the browser but there is no
'export to excel'. Am I doing this right or is there a problem with my
Internet Explorer and if so how do I fix it?

I don't recall ever hearing anyone indicating that Internet Explorer ever
had the ability to export a table to Excell. I did open a HTML document with
Excell 97, and the table cells ended up in corresponding cells in the
worksheet. The worksheet had the same row and column spans the HTML page
contained. Body text and headers outside the table ended up injoined
worksheet cells above and below the content from the table.
