Is there a card that you insert into your computer to get high speed
internet browsing. What service provides that and is it comparable to DSL
or Cable speeds?

Thanks
Mary

Your computer needs a NIC (Network Interface Card), either built in or as an
add-in card to which you then connect the output of the cable modem or DSL.
They are cheap and can be bought at Best Buy, Circuit City, or similar.

You are confusing me...... There are many types of Internet connections (not
shown in any particular order)
1) Dial Up (Using a standard Modem)
2) ISDN
3) DSL Broadband
4) Cable Broadband
5) Satelite Broadband

You must purchase your internet connection from what is know as an ISP
(Internet Service Provider). When you purchase your Internet connection your
ISP will usually send you the required equipment to connect your computer to
thier service, except dial up were they expect you to already have a modem
in most cases.
I for one am confused on what you are asking for?

Sorry about the confusion. I was checking on a high speed internet
connection for my friend who cannot get cable or dsl in her area.

So it looks like satelite broadband could be an option.

Thanks
