No driver installed in device manager for Canon A620

When the Canon A620 is pluged into the USB Port It showes up in the device
manager under imaging devices as Canon Digtal Camera with an ! in a yellow
ball. Under properties it showes no driver installed. The Canon manual said
no drivers required as Windows XP will supply them automatically. No software
needed because the camera supports PTP. This camera works great on my laptop

Windows XP Pro SP1
No USB hub

Did the Canon manual state the required drivers came with XP SP2, XP sp1, or
XP? As you're running SP1 you may have to upgrade to SP2.

Thanks Jerry for the reply
The manual states it will work with or with out sp1 or 2. The driver that
works on my laptop is dated 7/1/2001 version 5.1.2600.0. (sp2) Is it possible
to copy the laptop driver and install it on the other computer

I doubt if it would hurt anything to copy the driver but as it's labelled as
SP2 it may not work on an SP1 system.

On the laptop computer the driver listed three files. Searching on the desk
top computer it showed only two of the three. Copied missing file from laptop
to same location on desk top. Pluged in the camera and window automatically
loaded drivers. Works great now. Thanks Jerry for your help
