No Display Adapter in Device Manager

Hello all,
I am running Windows XP on an AMD 1.2 GHz processor, ABIT
MoBo, and Inno3d GeForce 2 Pro graphics card. I recently
flashed the BIOS seemingly with no problems. A couple
days later I installed Flight Simulator 2004 and started
it up. A message popped up that said 'Invalid Hardware
or Driver Detected.' I investigated to find that I had
no display adapter in my device manager list even though
I have installed the latest Detonator drivers (v45.23)
from NVidia. I ran DXdiag (Run-->'dxdiag') and saw that
Windows is trying to use a generic vga.dll for my
adapter. I'm thinking that I need to somehow 'flush' the
generic driver to get a good Detonator driver install,
but not sure if the problem could be deeper. Do any of
you have any experience/ideas for this problem?
Thank you in advance for your replies,
Adam
