No disc error message

I have a Dell Dimension, until recently workedf fine, now when i try to copy
word documents to CD drive get the message no disc in the drive, have changef
disc brands but these have been used before succesfully.
I can play discs in the drive and burn discs from i -tunes but not copy word
documents.

Hello,

CD-Rs can only be used once. Try using brand new CD-Rs.

How old is the drive? It could be failing.

Thanks for the help it still doesn't work

I ha dsuccess by drag and dropping files, but when trying to copy via "file
and Folder Tasks" and then opening D drive and then selecting file still get
No disc message

Also I have to format the disk and then make compatible the only way to
write to Disk

If you're going to format the disk you need to use a CD/RW. A CDR is a
one time use and once it's formatted it's no good. Also right click the
drive and on the recording tab be sure enable CD recording on this drive
is checked.

Thanks for your help, the recording is enabled, if you right click on
properties and look on general the pie chart its all coloured blue even
though it says no bytes.
