'No device detected' for copy to CD

Mike

Hi,
I've used the burning program in Windows Media with no
problems for ages, but after trying to install Virtual CD
(and later deleting it) the Player tells me that there
is 'no device detected' when I go to the copy to CD area.
I've no idea why this is. Ive updated the Player to V.9
and it still persists. Windows recognises my burner and
the device is working properly. Can anyone please help?
thanks in advance
