No Desktop Tab

I have never had a problem changing my dektop picture, and editing the way
that it is put on the desktop. eg centre, tile etc etc

But now when I right click on my desktop and select propeties there is no
desktop tab!!

Help!

Open Regedit.exe and navigate to:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
-and-
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]

Delete the NoDispBackgroundPage value in the right-pane.

Also, set ClassicShell value to 0 in these keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
-and-
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

I am experiencing the same symptom that "rob" has. I tried your registry
edit and did not resolve the problem. Any other suggestions?

Have you checked in both the locations (HKLM & HKCU) for both the values?
