no desktop icons or taskbar???

after a restart of my computer, I logged in as usuall,
but only the desktop background appeared. no icons are
there, and no taskbar. basically there is no interactive
desktop or any kind. i had to open the taskmanager
(ctrl+alt+del) and run programs from there. using this
method, everything on the computer (as far as i can tell)
is accessable and is working.

so pretty much the computer seems fine, the desktop just
isn't there =(. Any suggestions?

what happens if you run explorer.exe from the task
manager?

should get your desktop back...

Hi Chris!
Right click on the desktop > choose properties > click on Desktop tab>
"Customize Desktop"> Internet Explorer, Recycle Bin, My Documents and/or
My Network Places are there.You can either add or remove them.
