i have imap accounts and they have no "deleted items folder". Any ideas?

newsgroups server, see if they offer a newsgroup more likely to attract
such experts:

comp.mail.imap

Mention that you are having problems in Windows Mail under Vista,
since they're likely to cover other email programs and other operating
systems also.

answer here quickly. If you have access to some other newsgroups server,
see if that server carries newsgroup:

comp.mail.imap

That newsgroup name looks more likely to attract IMAP experts, but also
like you'll need to mention that you're having the problem in Windows
Mail under Vista.
