No contacts in new mail in Outlook 2007

When I click the "To" button in creating a new email message there are no
contacts, no choices for choosing an address book. I go to the contacts
folder, select properties for the address book I want to show up, select
"Automatically generate Microsoft Exchange views" on the general tab. When I
go to the Outlook Address Tab in properties for the address book all choices
are greyed out.

This happened after I installed the Technical Refresh for Microsoft Office
2007. Running Office 2007 under Windows Vista x64 build 5728.

You need to reconfigure the Outlook Address Book Service. Method is the same
as for all other current versions and well documented both here and in the
KB. As with any upgrade, you should always create a new Outlook profile to
prevent these very common problems, especially when you are using a beta.
