No Connection because of sp2

I had just installed windows xp, I had an internet
connection (cable) which I used to dl sp2. After a
successful dl and install I discovered I no longer have
the internet. I get "page cannot be displayed" messages
and I cant connect to online games.

What should I do?

is that Windows XP Home or Professional?

Have you made any changes to the firewall settings?

There may be some issues with certain cable modems, related to
loopback addresses.

If you cannot resolve the problem, a very basic way out is to
uninstall Service Pack 2 again to gain some time to deal with
the problem.
