Yahoo hasn't recommended use of that server for years.
I'm assuming you have Yahoo's premium "Mail Plus" service:

If so, you should be using the special servers and settings for that service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-14.html
