No captions on controls

I have installed "Instant DVD Recorder" software from Pinnacle. When I start
the software I see the buttons, check boxes, etc and they seem to function
when I click on them but there are no captions (labels) on the screen for
them. I have installed the latest and greatest supposedly for XP, even in the
safe mode. The technical support for Pinnacle has not been helpful. I think
this is a problem with my desktop though, because the same software on my
laptop with XP pro sp2(same as desktop) works ok.

My previous post refers to a Pinnacle HDTV card or USB HDTV tuner, if not
please disregard my post.

I can do the updated drivers, but why would 1 software prpogram not show
controls and all on my desktop be ok? This has nothing to do with recording
or viewing the video.

Is there some windows setting that would keep some labels from showing up in
a program?

Updateing vid driver is an option to try, if 1 app isnt displaying
correctly, either that app hasnt installed correctly or it has its own
options have a 'txt switch off'
 
I applied new video drivers, didn't solve problems. An there is no " turn the
text off" setting.
Any more ideas please
 
Other than a reinstall of the app, afraid not
